Happy Father’s Day, Ray!

Our game for you today is: Guess how much we spent at Wal-Mart? Send us your guesses – answer tomorrow.

Enrique our RV driver was late for the 8-9am delivery. Once he arrived Ray drove him to the airport in our rental car while the boys and I loaded a few things into the RV.

After Ray got back we all headed out for a quick Burger King lunch. Then we hit Wal-Mart! On our FIRST hour and a half trip we loaded up 2 carts with household items – sheets, towels, plates, pots, etc. We needed a break and I needed coffee. We took that load out and filled the truck of the car. We drove through McDonalds then back to the hotel to unload into the RV in assembly-line fashion. Back to Wal-Mart, this hour and a half trip was for food and storage bins. We once again we filled 2 carts and the trunk of our rental car. Once we unloaded into the RV, Ray returned the rental car and got a taxi back. ($15 for a 4 minute ride).

By now it is about 6pm and the RV was completely trashed with suitcases and Wal-Mart bags everywhere. But it is time to drive to Ogden and the Century RV Campground, our destination for tonight. It was only about a 45 minute drive.

After arrival Ray and I did some unpacking, washed some plates, etc while the boys explored. Dinner on the picnic table outside our RV was rotisserie chicken sandwiches, carrots, and mandarin oranges.

After dinner we had to make beds and wash dishes.

We were all exhausted. It has been an incredibly long day, long 2 days, and long 3 weeks.

Braves lost!

Gas and temps are similar to home - $3.87/gallon, upper 80’s

I'm guessing $500. Not sure why....just a good round number. It may be low. We always consider it a good day to get out of Wal-Mart for less than $100.

My guess is $785! Sounds like so much fun so far! And what a wonderful experience for the children. We look forward to staying tuned and reading your daily blog!

I first read it as how much time you spent at Walmart and I guessed 3 hours and was right from what you said.

I'm guessing money wise that it was more like $1000. You bought storage stuff and food and all that other stuff. I'm sure it was up there!

I would guess that you spent somewhere around $700. That be my guess. I think there should be a souvenir for the person who gets the closest without going over!

I am going to guess....$750..or so...

I thought that the camper was coming with all the basic supplies? I know you said that you were getting "personal kits?" or something like that, and that those would have towels and such. You had never mentioned that you would have to purchase all of those other supplies. WOW!!

I LOVE reading your blog! Can't wait to see and read more! Thanks for sharing it with all of us!!

Hi, Kerry, this is Susan M. Love the blog! :)

I was thinking in the $700 range as well, because one full cart at Walmart feels like $150 to me, then there is sales tax. But since that guess is already taken, I'll go higher. Two reasons: I'm remembering Christmas lights being a factor of FOUR over what I guessed! LOLOL And I know you're really thrifty, but that is a LOT of household stuff and foods to have to buy.

Hmm... my guess is $701.

Do we get to guess what the GAS bill is for the whole trip or weekly? Hope you got some rest! :)

Hmmm, I'm going to big $1,001! That kind of Price is Right behavior drives Dave crazy. So that's my shout-out to him. :) Maybe I'll win a new washer/dryer!

Glad to hear you're well. We already miss you guys but we're glad to keep up with your adventures here!

Happy Father's Day Ray!

btw, that was "bid", not "big"

I swear I have not looked ahead....but knowing the Kemp girls and their penchant for checking prices....I think you probably only spent about $650....figuring that when you got to my house.....you could pick up anything else you needed :)

Love the addition of the pictures. I had to crack up that the picture of your boys with a man who is not their dad showing up right beside the "Happy Father's Day, Ray" blog entry.
