We didn’t want to waste one second at this gorgeous place. We got up, had a quick breakfast and headed back to the beach. We tried to get a good “Christmas Card” picture with the light house in the background. What do you think?
Parker wanted to play pool so the guys went to the game area while I came back to blog some more. Time was short so they didn’t play much.
We pulled out right at the 12-noon check out time and drove over to the lighthouse. Got stamps and medallion. Walked ½ mile to the lighthouse with the goal of walking up the 161 steps to the top. Thank goodness the line was too long and I was spared the 161 steps!

Back on the road – we drove about 230 miles from Newport, OR to Diamond Lake, OR. One small oops – Parker opened the refrig while Ray was going around a big curve. The milk flew out and the FULL gallon broke open. Parker and I lunged to grab towels to sop up the mess. The boys and I were really tired. On the drive today I crashed on the couch for about an hour, Parker had the passenger front seat reclined and 
took an hour nap, and Preston got Parker's egg carton mattress and put it on the floor where he slept for 2 hours.
The campground was nice. We are at about 5000 ft. (last night we were at 100 ft about sea level). Very festive – all dec’d out for the 4th. We keep saying we need to buy some decorations for UN-Faithful. Many RV’ers have decorations on or around their “homes”. On arrival Ray bought LP gas. In 2.5 weeks we have used .75 of a tank. The mosquitoes here were awful. Possibly worse than at West Yellowstone. I kept my jacket on all the time when outside as protection. We walked down to the south shore area so see about the pizza parlor down there. It was closed for Wed 7-2, possibly for our own good from the looks of it. We walked on to Diamond Lake and looked across at Mount Thielsen. I did a quick load of laundry (remember those milky towels!).

Tough call on the pics. They are all good. I like y'all best in the one where Preston is sitting next to you and Parker and Ray are standing but the lighthouse is "closer" in the picture in the one where you are all sitting on the rock.
