We hiked the 2/3 mile path to the bridge. What an incredible sight. We talked to Ranger Chuck for a while. He was really informative. Author Zane Gray loved to visit Rainbow Bridge and set the scenery of many of his books in this landscape.
After an hour stop we got back on the boat. Ray and Preston talked with Captain Doug. He really loves his job. He told them several stories of his adventures on Lake Powell. Lake Powell is the second largest man-made reservoir in the United States behind Lake Mead, storing 24,322,000 acre feet of water when full. Lake Powell was created by the flooding of Glen Canyon. It took 17 years to fill.
We got back to the resort around 6pm. Coffee and dinner in the RV.
